Beautiful Natural Forms prints from our Print Making workshop this week. To create these positive and negative pieces students learned a variety of mono printing techniques such as burnishing and collage; with the use of wallpaper to help create textured backgrounds. To generate such refined pieces of work students used the printing press, this has allowed elements such as leaf veins to appear in more detail! I think you will agree that for first timers students have succeeded to created beautiful outcomes!

Students continued to engage in our Summer Workshops last week; with Miss Goldswain leading Wood Turning on Thursday 15th June. Was lovely to see staff members as well as students take part. Students practised a variety of techniques on the Wood Lathe and created some beautiful work.

Photoshop workshop

As well as Ms U’ren’s Print Making Workshop tomorrow we also have a Photoshop workshop lead by Mr Smith this Thursday 22nd June. Please sign up at the Art Office if this is something that interests you!

Students took part in the first Summer Sessions masterclass on Street Art Stencilling this week. Joined by staff as well, they learnt how to make multiple stencils to build up layers and colour in their artwork. They all worked together to create one board full of stencils which will be displayed in the Art Department. All students really challenged themselves and the outcomes look great!
