The work presented above is from Miss Faulks’ Year 8 Textiles Class. The students have used a combination of techniques such as wax resist, hand stitching, ink drawings and painting  in order to shape their natural forms design brief. The design brief was commenced by BBOWT ( Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust). The trust was looking for new promotional material that had a handmade ‘textile’ look. They were asked to use images connected to natural forms and to include text that carries the message of the key values of BBOWT.

All these techniques were incorporated together to produce a final piece. This was channelled by the students taking photocopies of each technique they had achieved, therefore they were able to cut up the photocopies and establish their work into an arrayed collage. Other students decided to create leaflets for their promotional material for BBOWT which was created with the use of ICT. These final outcomes look fantastic mounted onto A3 paper as they are bright in colour but contrasting with their ink drawings.
