A big thank you to everyone that entered Waingels’ first photography competition on the theme of ‘It’s Getting Cold Outside!’ In total we had an astounding 137 entries and the standard was very high. The competition was judged by Dawn Rodgers from Bradfield College and Naughty Dog Photography who said ‘it was a very difficult decision to make’.

A Particular mention to our First Place Winners: Katerina Hodges (Student Category), Mr Kaye (Staff Category) and Clayton Tagg (Parent Category).

Year 12 Photography students went on their first field trip of the year to the Cole Museum of Zoology, located within Reading University. Students had to think carefully about the technical aspects of photographing preserved specimens and taxidermy through glass, but all approached the task with creative endeavour!  Students will use these photographs to respond to their brief studying Surrealism. We look forward to seeing their ‘dream like’ responses!
